Easy place to find right outside the Grand Canyon South Entrance. Free camping among the trees. RV accessible. There's an entire town just 5 minutes away but you can't hear any of it.
We arrived after dark and easily found a spot for the night next to a fire ring.
It snowed, but still beautiful!
BLM camping here near the Grand Canyon. So no services. But plenty of places just half mile from the loop. Probably always full during the busy season. So I will consider us lucky having gone in December.
Absolutely beautiful. Lots of trees, sites are easy to access and feel private. There are a couple of places that are big-rig friendly. We have a 41' fifth wheel and had no problems getting in.
Woke up to elk bugling which is very cool if you know what it is (perhaps not so cool if you don't. 😁)
Very close to town and only 7 miles from the entrance to Grand Canyon.
I was able to get in here easily with my compact hatchback, no 4x4 required whatsoever.
Lovely place with plenty of trees for hammocks, fire pits, town close by with bathrooms (the hotel on the south end of town has clean bathrooms open to the public).
This was nice BLM campground. However when we were there they had a flash flood. We were up at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. We had to get a room at the Grand Canyon $300 because we were not allowed back to the campground by Rangers. It flooded the town of Tusayan which you can see from the campground. They said this is not normal. They had evacuated some people in the town and other were to shelter in place. We were blessed that the flood did miss our camper but we were higher up the hill luckily. But you could see where it had flooded from where we had put the camper. The town was hit very badly! The water was so high that it had the cars were totally covered. Just park higher up the hill and watch the weather. It's not common but it does happen.
