Located off the Snowy Range Scenic Byway in the Libby Creek Recreation Area, the Pine Campground sits along the banks of Libby Creek. This is a small but pleasant campground with 6 sites. Max trailer length is 16 ft.
From Laramie, take WY 130 west to the Forest Boundary (near Centennial, WY), and then travel 1/2 mile west to the Barber Lake Road (on the south side of the Snowy Range Highway). Pine CG is on the right.
Small, but mighty. Camping right next to the creek was so soothing. Not a lot of room for a big rig, but possible.
I found a nice little spot off to the side that's not a real camp spot and made my own spot there's plenty of deadwood around to use for firewood at the moment and nice fast running stream that has water what better spot to camp over the 4th of July
Libby Creek Willow USFS CG. Nice quiet CG. Many Aspen trees. Sorry to say many, if not most, of the pine trees have succumbed to the pine beetles. A smaller stream(Libby Creek) runs alongside the CG. There are 3 small pit toilets along the CG road. There are 15->20 sites along the road. All pretty private and shaded except the group of 5 at the end of the CG. The cost in 2023 is $10/nite ($5 senior pass), that is proposed to go to $20 as most other dry CG’s in Medicine Bow Mntn’s. No on site host but toilets are cleaned twice a day and of the 3 days there I saw a ranger 2 days(may have been through more times).
Nice campground. By a mountain stream so there is “white noise”. So don’t really hear neighbors. Campsites are close but secluded because of trees. Close to great hiking.
