Lovely site. One star off because it was really hard to find a level spot to put the tent.
Dry, hot, desert like camping. I prefer cold camping, but if you are looking for a lake to swim and fish in. and you dont mind dirt and dry climate- this is a nice place. There's picnic tables, well paved roads, vault toilets, and water access. We felt safe, and the area was taken care of. It's very close to town, but far enough where you don't feel like you're in the middle of it. A walmart is about 3 miles away.
A nice little campsite with bathrooms nearby. You get a great view of the lake, a grill and fire pit is there as well as a table with a cover which helps A LOT when it's hot. Only thing I have to complain about is these campsites are not just tent only so unfortunately we were surrounded by RVs that had generators going ALL DAY. So that took away from the quiet. They were asked by park rangers to turn it off at 9 or so which thank goodness. The people next to us had three dogs and didn't have them on a leash they looked a little aggressive barking at anyone who walks by. They didnt pick up their waste either as they let them go to the bathroom right in the center of their campsite since they had an RV. So If anyone reserves 105 on south shore look around for dog waste. I wish they kept that south shore just for tents. The generators like I said was a little annoying to hear constantly but other then that it was nice. It does get a little windy so heads up for that.
It was a pleasant place for an overnight stop, but one patron ran his noisy generator all night. Hornets and flies had made themselves a home at the bathrooms. It's kinda like and overflow camp site when there's nothing available at the main park.
