I’ve been camping at Lakeside for over 20 years, so I’ve seen a lot of changes. The park is in horrible condition and keeps getting worse…grass is dead, trees are dead, sprinklers don’t work, everyone says to call corporate and complain, rude rude rude office staff and to top it all off, NO CAMPFIRES!!!! Where did that come from??? This is a first!!! They tried to blame the county, but we knew better because it was already lifted. Lakeside is doing everything they can to run every single one of their loyal guests out of there. I used to tell EVERYONE how much we loved it, but not anymore. It really is quite sad, because some of our best memories were made there. Funny that you have a four star rating, which obviously means you are removing negative reviews and misleading your customer base. If you’d like to discuss, I’d LOVE to educate you on how things used to be.

We stopped in at the casino, ate some of their food and do have to save for the price. It was very good. We will be back again. Great customer service location of courses very good too.

The good and the not so great:

The good: Overall for the money, it’s very doable. Decent size rv spots. About a 50min drive to Vegas. Numerous bathrooms and trash disposal areas.

Now for the not so great: the pictures on Google are extremely outdated. This place is vastly different than it was back then. New casino owners have ran it into the ground, unfortunately. It’s sad to see the state of it now because you can still imagine it in its glory days. Geese and their feces have taken over the grounds, the pool is out of order, there is no waterfall and the boat launch needs to have biohazard tape around it. The pavilion has been closed for years. It would be super cool to have that pavilion up and running as advertised in the pictures, but the geese have taken over it. All the grass is dead and the sprinklers are broken and spray your RV at random times. As for the staff, one of the front desks ladies is super nice and helpful, and the other is not. You’ll know right away if you encounter the less than helpful one lol.

During the summer, the landscape folks use a leaf blower almost non stop during the day, so it’s quite loud. With all that noise and landscape “work” I would think the grounds would look a bit better? The map with all the “amenities” is a bit of false advertising.

Avoid eating at the casino as well. Gross food, tiny portions, rude staff.

Also, they do not accept packages for their guests which can be a hassle.

Made a reservation to stay at the RV park. Several days before we were to arrive our plans changed. Their site said we could cancel at least 48 hours ahead of time with no charge. I canceled well beyond this time but they charged me anyway.

Update. They did end up reaching out to me and I found out they had honored a special request I had so I'm updating my review. However, although you can make a reservation online, if you try to contact them online to cancel, they don't know where that request ends up. So you can make a reservation online but apparently you cannot cancel it online.

Unless you are using a LOT of electricity, the 700$+ price isn't worth it. I met a few nice, helpful people here but the one star is for the owners that NEED TO STEP UP and fix all of the things wrong with this place. There are cheaper, nicer RV spots in Pahrump.
