The park is located about 11 miles southwest of Colorado City off of Interstate 20 on FM 2836.
A hidden gem in west Texas! Campsites have all the basic necessities. The lake is fantastic for swimming and relaxing in the water. Great skies for stargazing too🔭💫🌠
It was really nice to camp here. The shower facilities were good, fairly clean.
There were a few things that could be better though.
Mainly the trash that's left around the lake. It's no fault of the park it's the guests but there needs to be some clean up crews and maybe more signs. Not that we should need that.
Only spent one night on the way somewhere else. Bathrooms and showers were clean and nice. Dump station was also clean. It was hot. We arrived about 3:45pm and it was 108 F. But believe it or not experienced a pretty good rainstorm. Like all of Texas they needed it and much more. Lake level was down and there was a burn ban in effect. Quiet park, wouldn't be a destination for me but a good stop-over.
Great place to camp! Lots of different size RV sites. Stop littering visitors, don’t trash our parks. Bathrooms could use an upgrade and the showers are kinda creepy lol. Quiet with nice views and the picnic table and awning were great!
We did not know this park was in Texas. We enjoyed our stay very much! Because it is a Texas State Park, we did not have to have a Texas fishing license. I enjoyed fishing, even if I didn't catch anything. The bathrooms were very clean. The park was well kept. Can wait to go again.
