Great for stargazing because they keep the park open.

We found others doing the same with some serious equipment. Be respectful and try to keep your light down to a minimum when approaching the lot where people are observing. It takes 30 minutes to adjust the eyes to night and a bright flash of car beam will mess with people.

This was a well maintained park with plenty of variety in sites. I would say the East campground is more family friendly with a playground, and the West campground seemed less so. The trail system is wonderful and the star gazing at the top of the mountain was amazing. They have red lights in the bathrooms up there too to keep ambient light to a minimum. We really enjoyed it here.

Nice campground with excellent trails for walks and bikes. My dog loved it. Our campsite was very nicely groomed and spacious. Campsites were nicely spaced. We'll be back.

Cool state park, very well marked trails and lots of options for different activities. Quick drive from the Portland metro, was pretty sparse on a rainy fall Sunday.
