Went to the trappers rendezvous at the park. Well organized and a lot of fun that was! A little chilly but a beautiful place.
Really nice campground, seemed underutilized as i think I was the only person there. Dated but clean showers, only 1 though in the Mens. Plenty of hot water and very affordable at only $10 a night. There is a bait shop for those who like to fish. Plenty of spots...
Their parking pads for RVs are wonderful. Most of them are level. There are firepits and a table at every site. There are outdoor toilets in most areas. They have trash dumpsters and so the grounds were actually somewhat clean. There is a dumpstation. The gravel roads leading into the park are real rough. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars
The trails are in need of some tender loving care, but it is beautiful & peaceful, & great for upper elementary or middle school kids to enjoy nature. The park personnel are very genuine & helpful. And the bait shop is loaded with goodies & inexpensive.
It’s hidden gem and by hidden it can be hard to get to. But it’s a great place to hike and fish. Saw 2 big whitetail bucks by the lake. Definitely go if it’s nice out. Dirt roads!
