Whoa! Give that pedal foot a rest and soak up some Sunflower State hospitality. Camp the Range in Wichita KS is an easy off from the freeway, a full-service RV Park geared for stopovers and whole season residents alike. You’ll find that the skies really are not cloudy all day. (There’s a storm shelter for the odd exception.) And you’re in the best spot to get to the best spots in Wichita. Lots of recreation, relaxation and plenty of the good kind of shade.
The staff and management do a very good job maintaining and running this park. It's clean, quite, and reasonably priced. We've stayed at 4 different parks in the Wichita area. We have had no complaints of any of the parks, but we will be staying at Park the Range from now on. For us, it has the best value, best rates, best location, best staff and management of any of the parks.
We are brand new at using an RV. This is our very first time at parking. Don was very helpful in showing us how to hook up and guided us where to park. The girl in the office was always extremely helpful with us too. We suffered our first negative temperatures (we are from Florida) and they instructed us how to keep our pipes from freezing. There was one time our pipes froze and he was out there helping everyone keep their pipes working. I'm going blind and my eyes are having trouble focusing. We asked if we could move closer to the dog walking area so it would be easier for me to walk the dogs. As always, they were eager to please and allowed us to pick our own spot. The bathrooms and showers are always clean. Laundry room has brand new washers and dryers. We were looking at poss8bly moving to another rv park closer to where my son lives but right away after meeting their staff we decided to stay right where we are at. Mostly because of the staff. Thank you for always being here to help us. We plan to come back here every year when visiting our son. Our doggies love it here too.
Hard to know where to start with this place. I came in to town for the worst possible reason (family medical emergency). They were absolutely helpful from the moment we came in to park the RV. Explained all the amenities, which are top of the line. Great clubhouse, laundry facility, and shower house. Playground for the kids. Dog walking area for the pets. There's actual shade around and even throughout the lots. Such an amazing atmosphere. WiFi throughout the whole park. All amenities are modern, so you don't get that old stone building shower house communal living feel like at the state parks. Easily located right off the highway. Pull through sites which are actually level. Just an all around excellent place. Having stayed at the other places in town, I will hands down say this is the nicest place I've ever stayed anywhere.
Now, the real standout of the place. The service. I cannot say enough about the crew running this place. It is a dad and his daughters, and they are absolutely amazing. The most humble and understanding people I've ever met. They offer an old school feeling to customer service. It's what I imagine traveling the old Route 66 must have been like back in the golden era of travel across this country. Thank you all for your hospitality. It meant so much to me. You brought a light of hope in some dark times.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PLACE OVER ANY OTHER PLACE I'VE EVER STAYED. PERIOD. DO NOT LET YOURSELF DOWN BY GOING ELSEWHERE. THIS IS THE ONLY STOP WORTH ANYTHING IN THE WICHITA AREA.
You can tell the manager and staff of this place really care about the property and it’s guests. I’ve been here a couple months and interacted most with Don, Alex and Andrew. They are all capable, helpful and joyful people at the park. The park has a nice gated dog area to let them off lease and plenty of open area to walk your pets on leash. The rec room and laundry rooms are nicely kept and I have had no problems. The bathrooms are always clean and warm. All around great place to stay for a weekend or for a while.
This is a very well maintained campground. You can really tell that Don and the crew put a lot of time and effort into keeping the grounds and facilities clean and in good working order. We stayed here for two months over the winter and it wasn't uncommon to see Don helping with snow removal, grating the gravel roads so water didn't pool up as the snow melted, and helping guests with their RVs. Don and the team always went above and beyond to make sure we were having a pleasant stay. With quick and easy access to the highway this is the best location to stay in Wichita. We won't hesitate to book this place again when we're back in town.
