If you like paying $35 to stay at a campground worse then the Hwy80 rest stop then this dump fits the budget. All the parking spots are angled, unbelievable noisy and overpriced
We've been coming here for years, but stopped during COVID and finally made it back out this year.
Wonderful little spot if you don't mind being close enough to hear the road, with a perfect little swimming hole on the already picturesque Yuba River, and plenty of hiking in the area.
There were a lot of wasps and flies this year, which I'm guessing had a lot to do with the exceptionally wet winter/spring months this year.
I give 4 stars instead of 5 because, and this just may be me being petty but, the grounds weren't quite as taken care of as in past years (crazy bathroom at the time, it was like the Amityville Horror scene with the flies) and during one entire day, there was one group of 8 or so campers who were obnoxious the entire time and hoarded all of the waterfront river space with tents and structures, leaving the swimming area inaccessible for all of the other campers.
Very nice little Campground. Across the street from offroad trails. Only negative is that it's RIGHT next to 80 so no peace and quiet
The campground was ok alot of noise from the freeway right next to the campground. You'd have to repeat everything you say at least twice. The Water was nice for the kids though.
Campground is nice, plenty of space between sites. Close to hiking trails and swimming hole with a waterfall within the campground. Short rock cliffs to jump into the cold water or just folat around. The freeway noise is loud and the biggest downfall. Just need to imagine it is strong winds blowing through the trees. Sites in the upper 20's are farther away from the freeway and not as loud as the sites closer to Yuba River. Nightime is not too bad with less traffic. Nice place to stay for the weekend or on your way to other destinations.
