Amazing campground and a perfect place to stage any trip to Rainbow Basin. Pit toilets and fire pits are available for campers, along with beautiful views and sunsets of the area. Very relaxing and serene place to camp and enjoy yourself with friends and family. Highly recommend! FANTASTIC STARGAZING TOO!

Great family friendly camping location. I've visited multiple times throughout the years.

The road to reach this location is easily accessible for most vehicles. A Toyota Camry typically will not have any issue as of early 2023. Higher clearance and AWD is not necessary in my opinion.

Each campsite has a fire ring, a concrete bench, and shaded pavilion. The restrooms are non-flushable and shared. Cleanliness varies, but generally it's not the best nor worst.

There are lots of things to do (mentioned in other reviews and online). My favorite things are hiking to the peaks for some spectacular views at sunset and walking the canyons. There's also a small cave.

Bring lots of water, be courteous to other campers, and please clean up when you leave.

There are 5.5 miles of unpaved, washboard, teeth-rattling roads to get in here. We made it in our 37-foot motorhome, but it took about 45 minutes! Other than that, this is a lovely, peaceful place to camp. We wouldn't do it again.

Most spots are suitable for smaller rigs than ours. Each site has a covered picnic shelter and fire ring with grill. Vault toilets, no hookups. There are water spigots, but I'm not sure there was any water available. We didn't pay the fee at the kiosk because there were no fee envelopes. A ranger came by almost daily, so I don't think they are charging the fee ($6 per day) currently.

10 day stay and it was wonderful. Study groups would show up for the weekend and they were gone most of the day. Week days we were 1 of maybe 3 campers. We have a 30 foot travel trailer so just drive slow on the way in.

A very nice place to camp. I stayed here in the middle of summer, which might have been a mistake, but the stargazing and hiking was amazing. Area is fossil-rich, and has a very unique geology in general.
