Very nice couple that runs this place. It's in a beautiful setting. It was very peaceful. We didn't use the bath or laundry facilities but they were available. We saw several people with dogs. There was a large pavilion with many picnic tables for large groups. Price was perfect for a one night, just passing through, stay. If we're ever back up this way we'd definitely stay again and more nights.

Great campground! Nice big sites, way away from noise, very peaceful. Very reasonable rates, actually 1/2 the price of the KOA we stayed at last night, which was not a pleasant stay.

Prairie Pines Campground Rantoul Illinois:

This is s very low key and quiet campground.  This is NOT a resort and that's just fine for us.   The sites are gravel with a concrete parking area in front of them for your vehicle.

We had a full hook up site and our water, electric and sewer all remained constant.  The WiFi is much less then stellar and we just gave up on it and used our Hot Spot.

The one odd thing of note here is that to get to your pull through site you will follow the friendly fellow from the office with your rig up over a curb and on the grass possibly traveling behind other campers.   Having said that the sites are nice, level, wide and everything was clean and well maintained.

Other features include a large bathhouse, pavilion and paved roadways.  They seem to be very dog friendly as well.

All in all when passing through again we will be happy to stay again.

We came in off the road after a long day. My husband was under the impression that we didn't need reservations. When arriving we were greeted by very friendly hosts. They made you feel welcome. They graciously found a site for us, even though they told us that in the future we need reservations. The park is well taken care of. Lots are spacious, and very quiet. We definitely would stop again. And it has very reasonable rates!
