The campground is great. Lots of grass, plenty of shade, clean restrooms and showers. Easy check in. Pleasant camphosts.Nature trails right across the street. Good 5g reception and local TV easy to tune in. Should have received a 5 star rating. Except I had to view a political flag all weekend. No rules or regulations to disallow controversial subjects.
Camping should be an enjoyable time for all. I really don't care who you voted for or your political views when I am enjoying a glass of wine by my campfire. Raise your American flag. Raise your state flag. Raise your favorite team's flag. No need to bring divisiveness to a place where you are supposed to be able to enjoy yourselves.
I've been to Illiniwek many times but I have never seen the public restrooms in such disgusting shape. Dirty, smelly, just horrible. Big disappointment!!!!
Awesome campground. Have been going here for years with family. Excellent location and the fishing quality on the river is amazing. Only downside is it is first come first serve for a site, you cannot reserve online. One time I had to go to plan B because no sites were available here. Bathrooms are decent, not the best compared to other campgrounds, but they get the job done.
