Great place to camp. Hiking the CDt and had a great hot shower and a camp spot for $10.
6/2022 Tent camped on soft grass. Few others in the park. Mike, the caretaker was friendly and kept the bathrooms clean. Don't know about hookups and such so only 4 stars. Will stay here again if needed. Didn't use the showers but they are there.
I always stop here driving from Montana to Arizona. A place to quiet your mind, breathe the fresh air, see an animal or two. The camp host, Mark is very informative, he'll bring a smile to your face...
Me and a friend spent a night at the wonderfully kept campgrounds at Leadore City Park.
The camp host, Mark, was more than just a pleasant conversation. He gave us a very personalized view on the area while making us feel welcome in a town we had only known for about an hour.
He took time out of his day to share some personal anecdotes while helping us come to terms with the area, it’s people, and the land we were standing on. I feel a lot more comfortable knowing that this campground is managed by a genuine, honest person who cares so much for the people who stay at this campground.
The bathrooms were well kept and the shower was warm!
Hiking the CDT and stayed here in a tent site. Mark, the camp host is amazing and goes out of his way to make you more comfortable. Tent sites are $10, showers $5 (very hot), and the place is kept very clean. Bathrooms are very clean. There are RV hookups ($20) with water and electricity too. The city of Leadore has plans to add fruit trees. There's a cool creek just behind the park, and plans are in the works to add pools and stock them with fish from the Fish and Game Wildlife. If you're coming through town and need a place to stay with bathrooms and hot showers, then I highly recommend this place. Even if you're not looking to stay overnight, stop by and visit Mark, the camp host. He's full of friendliness and information on the area.
