Don't feel like roughing it, enjoy one of our Sleeping cabins, we have several cabins to accomodate
From S Hill City Limits: Go 3-1/2 mi S on US 16/385, then 2 mi E & S on Hwy 87 (Needles Hwy).
Really nice bath house, accommodated us in adding an additional night. Cute little store that seemed well stocked with some basic needs. Fairly centrally located to many attractions
What a great campsite, beautifully landscaped and looked after. Clean showers and restrooms and even a outdoor sink with hot running water with lights when it is dark. Travelled with my wife and two kids, they loved it and my kids loved the panning for artifacts. The store was very reasonably priced and it was great for a treat for the kids. I could not recommend this campsite more, everyone I talked to were repeat customers.
Finally made it back to Horse Thief Campground after 20+ years. Still an awesome campground like I remembered. Love that it’s secluded and quiet. Very nice RV and tent sites, clean bathroom, nice playground and pool for kids. Cell service wasn’t great, but phone worked decent on wifi. Forgot to mention beautiful views too! We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great stay.
Horse Thief is one of the nicest full-amenities campgrounds we have stayed at. It is very well-groomed, peaceful and quiet as it is off the main road and surrounded by lots of trees. The restrooms/showers are very clean and can accommodate the handicapped. We had a wonderful time visiting Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer State Park, which are short distances away.
