The Wrinkled Rock Climbers Trailhead is located on State Highway 244, adjacent to the west boundary of Mount Rushmore National Memorial.
Great camping spot with good parking and some concrete flat tent sites off small paths.
Climbing from very easy to any level of challenges
Turn is kind of hard to see close to Black Hills forest highway signage
Decent outdoor toilet
Good spot for kids to camp up to 14 days
More camping nearby at pay facility
4 minutes to Mt Rushmore
Great Trail Head Parking. Pit Toilet. Quiet from Road Noise. The lot is not completely level. Thanks for the signage on trails/climbing areas on the big kiosk.
Free, a real climbing gem. It's not expansive about 15 vehicles fills it up. It is meant to be a tent camping spot but RVs show up, they are not supposed to stay , but they do. Trailers even small ones will NOT fit. Toilet available, no water. Tent spots just downhill are very nice, level and clean. If your car camping or self contained in a van it's very nice. Noise from the road and the omnipresent and "noise vulgar" Harleys can happen till late. Local trails through the rock formations is easy and recommended. Walk or drive further west to the breezy point picnic area is a must do . A real gem, 💎 right in the middle of the best the area has to offer.
