From jct of Hwy 8 & CR-H: Go 3 mi N on CR-H.
New owners making updates and improvements. Friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant with limited weekend hours. Food is good but we found that the grease/oil used for griddle cooking was off tasting and needed replacing. The biscuits and gravy were great and soon was the ice cream.
Excellent place to ride from. Limited child events/play areas so bring a fishing pole. Owners and staff are AWESOME! One of the best campgrounds for atvs. Only real downside is camping on top of each other. Literally a few feet from next camper. The fire pits just filled the campers with smoke which were only 5 feet from the camper (both mine and next doors).
Campground was right on the UTV trails which was very important to us. The camp host Joe was a sweetheart and very welcoming. Thank you for a great weekend! Planning on booking again soon.
We love lake hilbert campground! We have been coming for 3 years with friends and family and make the best memories year after year. Camp sites and cabins have been perfect for us every time. We trail ride and it’s great having immediate access. Lastly, Channon has made the experiences wonderful for us! Fun activities planned for the kids with each stay. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Tje camp ground was absolutely awesome....Joe the sheriff was an awesome tour guide. The public showers and restrooms were ways clean even though the place seems "dead" after the weekend and up until Thursday. The little ARCADE was awesome treat for my son's "glamping" pleasure since there was very little cellular coverage here (we had at&t and Verizon) other than at the "lodge" (I forget what they called it but It was closed after the weekend....)
There's wifi provided by @starlink while near the lodge which also has a nice playground for kids to play.
We went down to the boat ramp and there was a kid fishing and he was telling us how swimming isn't recommended cause of the beach pollution a year or two ago. So we didn't go near the beach or water.
