We spent a month at this campground. It was a perfect location for us. There were several year round and seasonal campers. This campground could be really nice if it got some TLC. The facilities are run down. The staff there however did there very best with what they had. Ownership needs to put some capital into it and make some very needed updates and repairs. We lost water quite often and power due to the age of the equipment. We met some really nice fellow campers there. Please fix the place up. You have a gem there.

Management is terrible. The new owners don’t know what they are doing and don’t communicate with the guests at all. I have lived here for three and a half years with no problems or complaints against me, I am very quiet and not a problem at all. Now I got a non-renewal for my seasonal site and when I asked why, the reason I got was the group decided. There is no group, there is no justification for this. Four other campers received the same notice, at least two of them were also quiet and not troublesome. I don’t know who the other two are. I would stay away from this place, everything is patched together with bandaids, together, things run intermittently. The manager is unprofessional, he complains about people driving too fast but then he goes flying around kicking up stones with no regard for safety. He also is very rude and talks to guests very unprofessionally. Rules are made but there are a few people who seem to be exempt from them. It is hard to find year round campgrounds, they know this so it seems like they don’t care how people are treated. The full time residents are treated like second class and they cater to the summer renters which seems counterintuitive. The rates have gone up dramatically since I got here. Charging the same rate for winter as they did for summer is ridiculous. They want to charge the rates of high end resorts but they don’t have the facilities or grounds to do so. This is a bottom of the barrel campground. I would not recommend. I’d give it zero stars, but it made me put one.

This is my first camper and first season at Hickory Ridge. The grounds are clean and well kept. It’s very peaceful. Joe could not be more helpful! I’m glad I picked here for my first time camping.
