Absolutely beautiful campground! The owner/staff does a wonderful job upkeeping the place, and the heavy equipment used for said upkeep is ancient and staged throughout. Very cool! It's a campground...if you can't handle a "dirty" bathroom maybe get a hotel?? Or use your own. Or use a water bottle. Don't be a baby. I assume they aren't as clean or stocked as they were in years past is due to the unmistakable and dramatic decline of society. Everything walks away or is destroyed. Period. The small lake is kept peaceful due to the owners boat/trailer policies. Also great, thanks! Excellent water/power/septic availability. If you're unprepared to use the power at your site, and you failed to do any research about what that means, the owner will graciously lend/sell you what you need. Awesome! Very nostalgic atmosphere. I get the impression the owner promotes independence, proper research, preparation, and self sufficiency (gasp). Fortunately there's no wifi at the sites. Keep it that way for the love of god!!!

My husband & I were very interested and impressed by Bowdish Lake Campground's website. It said all the right things. We did exactly what the website suggests, and urges you to do. To call them, to walk around the campground to see how it works for you. The woman on the phone was not only borderline rude, but quite negative about me inquiring at all!

Unkempt, filthy restrooms, nickel and dime for everything. Much better camping & RV facilities elsewhere in RI.

Came here on 6-30-2023 to visit friends. We had our 3 kids in the car with us. We pulled into the entrance to register as a guest and upon arriving we were greeted by a dead sheep sitting in the middle of the road from their petting zoo. Our kids started crying and we turned around. Not sure what’s going on with this place. Before we saw the dead sheep we drove by loads of broken down old trucks. Very consistent with the other reviews……… Odd place!
