A nice quaint and quiet retreat for camping and boating right off the river.
Great place to stay next to the river, restrooms and shower need to be updated. Shower was pretty dirty and the pvc handles were hard to turn since they were broken. Toilet has to be flushed 3 times to get anything to go down. The sign on the wall behind the toilet explains this. Grounds are well kept, some road noise from the bridge. Shopping and dining is 15 minutes away no matter which direction you go. Boat ramp gets really busy on Friday and Saturday evening with people going onto the river, people were returning all thru the night to load their boats and go home. Gotta check out the frog picture from the men's room, pretty sure from his pose it was a boy frog.
Folks (and those cycling four miles out of their way to come to Gibson) the campsite is not just closed, it’s a war zone, so a even a sneaky stealth camp is out of the question. There was a storm here that pretty much destroyed the camp. There’s more ‘do not cross’ tape than a Miami Vice crime scene but no one thought to update the Google listing - so here it is.
