I camped here for a few days-- absolutely beautiful. Roads are dirt but maintained and only small bumps but it gets worse if you go past the turn around. It's a quiet area. Sites are decently spaced with some that can fit multiple vehicles. Good turn around area about 1/4 mile in the camping area. Also lots of cows!
Camped here for one night. Super cool area. No real designated camping spots, you just need to look for an open area to set up shop. Very nice picnic area at the top. Road was nice, it had recently rained so it was very smooth. Would not recommend driving in the area if it was raining… definitely a flood risk area.
Lots of rigs of various sizes when I visited in January of 2024. Happy Camp Road was a little rough, but if you take it slow you should be OK. I woke up to a herd of friendly cows! No trash cans so please pack it out.
Stopped there early afternoon. Couple of good spots close to the bathroom and one tucked away on the left side of the road that is private and has a fire ring. Went for a quick walk which was amazing but on the way back ran into the resident 🐄 and couldn't get them away from my sprinter til a nice law enforcement gent doing his last round moved the momma and babies out the way. Tbis place is a gem and the road up isn't a bad drive. Def make it a stop if u can.
Indian bread rocks recreational area is a rock climbers dream and offers a picnic/BBQ area as well as dispersed overnight camping.
It also offers a clean and stocked vault toilet and trash facility but you will have to supply your own H2O.
Currently the snow melt is providing numerous small streams that move down the Rock faced mountain and add a pleasing bubbling sound similar to a natural Spring.
There is no charge and they only ask that you pack out what you pack in.
I highly recommend this beautiful place and the dirt road that accesses the area is good as long as it has not rained the prior day.
