Hackberry Pavilion is an excellent place for visitors to spend the day at Lavon Lake, enjoying the beach, picnicking and boating.
The pavilion is located in Avalon Park, on the south shores of Lavon Lake. The lake is sourced by the East Fork tributary of the Trinity River and spans a surface area of 21,400 acres in northern Texas.

The picnic pavilion holds a whopping 500 guests and the sandy swimming beach is a big hit during warm months.

For what it is (small neighborhood park), it's great. Has swings and play place with 3 slides - one baby slide, one regular slide, and one twisty slide. Also some extra things like chain/rope wall, bouncy things for little ones, and some bars for older kids. Lots of neighborhood kids play here every night - even in the summer.
It's a small park with paved boundary. It's got a small kids playground at one corner.
People stroll alone or with their dogs.
You are sometimes greeted with an occasional smile from strangers which might make you happy.
I jog there sometimes and wish people good morning with a smile.
And yes a small fact the paved boundary is around 550 meters. So if you are on Target to achieve certain distance, hopefully this small trivia helps you.
Need an improvement. It’s fine and good. But it has an opportunity to be one of the best.
I uses to live in this area when I was a kid, around 2007-2008 (before we came back to India). I have lot of memories with this park. I still remember I used to come to this park every evening to play, ride my scooter.... Always feel nostalgic whenever I search this place, roam around in 360 degrees street view. One day I will come back in person Hackberry Park, I miss you.
The playground is great for kids, with modern equipment and ample space to play. The walking trails offer a pleasant stroll amidst nature, and the picnic areas are perfect for family gatherings. However, it could use more shaded spots and additional amenities like water fountains. Overall, a fantastic park for outdoor activities and relaxation.
