Its definitely not worth the money . Really small small room . It was not clean first of all. Found a lot of Hair. Hair in the fridge , around the bed. It is disappointing they couldnt clean a small room of 200sqft. Hot water only comes for 5 minutes and then takes 30 minutes for the next hot water. Paying more than 300 bucks and feeling like you're surviving is not worth the hype. They charge you for every little thing after paying good money. For coffee , tea , for the fire . Its ridiculous. you're not really in a secluded area too.
I have to say, I am disappointed at the cleanliness of our cabin given the expensive cost to stay here. Upon arrival, there were many hand prints and finger prints on the window, dirt/sand was on the floor, trash was along the exterior of the cabin, and there was some food left in the sink that was clearly not cleaned. I am not a high maintenance individual by any means but to be paying Almost $300.00 a night I expected a clean, ready-to-go cabin, not one I’d be cleaning for my first hour while here. Also for the price, it’s surprising to see that everything has a charge. $5.00 bag to make 2 s’mores when again, I paid almost $300.00 a night and was able to get supplies for $10.00 to make at least 20.
With the cons aside, I have to say that so far it has been a very nice peaceful weekend to just lay low, be with my partner, and enjoy each others presence. The cabin design is simple, cozy, and beautiful. Also love the big window that looks into the woods and brings in lots of natural light throughout the day.
Overall, I personally do not think that for the price it is worth to stay here again as there are many airbnb rentals that are within the same price range, scenic area, and offered much more. If you choose to stay here I hope you have a more positive experience and get to really enjoy the potential these cabins have.
Just recently spent a couple of days here and was disappointed with the experience.
I decided to stay here as my options were limited for a nice getaway within driving distance of NYC that allowed dogs. Had always seen the ads on Instagram, so decided to spend nearly $700 on a 2 night stay for me, my wife, and my dog with the outdoor suite and firestarter kit.
The firestarter kit really left a sour taste in my mouth. It includes 2 firestarter bundles and a bundle of logs and costs $25. You actually get a better deal if you don't buy until you arrive as those same items would cost just $14. Being charged $11 extra because I pre-ordered is terrible service. When I voiced my confusion, they "apologized for the confusion." If you plan to use the campfire, just make sure not to buy the firestarter kit.
It had snowed a week or two prior but had not melted. However, the steps down the steep hill to the cabin from where you can park your car were not shoveled or salted, just some light dirt. Multiple times, we almost fell.
The nearest bridge also closes during the night, and as we were coming in later in the day, we had to make a 30-minute detour to get in. While this is obviously not their fault, a quick message or email to let passengers know would help - seeing as apparently this bridge issue has been going on since December.
Lastly, there is barely any hot water. They do have signs about this, but it was literally about 5 minutes of hot water before running out
The highlights, however, were the cabin was clean, nice, and remote. The view from the giant window was great, and we loved the peace it provided. The firepit was well maintained, and they had a small nearby gated dog run that allowed us to give our dog a chance to walk around off leash.
The experience was okay, and a little extra care from their support team would've turned this from a 2 star to a 4 or even a 5 star.
My bf and I had no issue checking in, all of the information needed for our stay was provided via text which is great. We didn’t have to check in at a desk or anything like that which I appreciated. The cabin was beautiful, clean, well supplied, it included pots, towels, dish soap, body wash, cups, and mugs, A Bluetooth radio which was great. hot water, garbage bags etc. I think 1-2 nights is more than enough time to take in this beautiful space. Would definitely come here again. A great getaway.
The cabins are beautiful. The perfect getaway for those from NYC & Long Island. We stood 2 nights and the staff was quick to respond to all of our requests. We were running a bit behind the morning of our check out and the staff was very courteous and allowed us an extra 20-30 minutes to finish up. Cabins are stocked with basic essentials (utensils, oil, pot, pan, coffee pot, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, cutting board, scissors, tongs, creamer, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash).
We arrived just after it had snowed (which made the ground icy & slippery) and just before heavy rain (which made it muddy) so I suggest bringing proper boots. Food in the area is good but limited so I definitely recommend bringing groceries for meals if staying 2+ nights. We brought a cooler for larger items but the mini fridge does have space for lots of small things and one liter sized bottle. My only real complaint would be the hot water reserve. Even during quick showers the hot water would run out before we could finish, but not a major issue. Overall the experience was amazing and I’d definitely love to go again on a warm summer day.
