It’s a beautiful loop trail although the markings are not great. Easy to get lost in areas so you definitely want to have gps, a good idea of the trail, or go in higher traffic times when the trail is more worn. You have to cross water a few times on the trail, one by walking across a spillway, one by walking across a fall (find well placed rocks), and one across a small creek (across a log). Your feet are likely to get wet at least once!
Nice lake park with a decent lake trail and a couple of wooded loops. Scenery isn’t spectacular in the winter, but I bet there are lots of birds in the spring, and there’s a nice family beach for summer. Friendly rangers.
Lake Russell trail is not completely loop so don’t get lost. And the direction is not correct.
Brought the dogs here on a week day and had an amazing time. Lots of area to explore and some great trails that are an easy walk, with beautiful views.
