Located 6 miles northeast of Warthen via Hamburg Road off Georgia Hwy 102.
Beautiful quiet and clean statepark. The bathrooms are the cleanest i have ever seen . Great place to just hang out or for some kayaking /fishing
Beautiful spacious sites. The facilities were very clean and the grounds well maintained. The manager Julie and her staff, Casey and Allen made us feel at home.
Very relaxing visit. Nearly all sites are on the lake and were very level. Could have been luck of the draw, but no boom boom stereos, no loud exhaust trucks idling for an hour and nobody with those ridiculous bright lights on their campers that irritate everybody else all night long. Very quiet and peaceful all weekend.
Kept an eye out for the alligators but never saw any. We did see white birds and a couple snakes swimming in the lake.
We did the tour of the mill, which was very interesting, but they weren't operating it at this time (9/23)
Quiet hidden gem of a state park. The park ranger at the office is so nice and ready to answer any questions you may have. Campgrounds are very clean as are the bathrooms and other common areas. Every Saturday they run the dam powered (water) grits mill.
