A large, shallow lake cradled by the Big Scrub, Lake Eaton offers many distinctive faces. As a seasonal access area, the Lake Eaton Campground has only 14 sites. At the end of the road, the Lake Eaton Boat Launch and Pier offers opportunities for boating and fishing.
Drive south along CR 314-A from its intersection with CR 314 for 2.5 miles. Turn left on FR 44, an unimproved and deeply rutted road, and make a sharp left at the "Lake Eaton Campground" sign. At the corner of NE 171 Ave Rd and NE 61st Street Rd, continue straight ahead through the recreation area gates. The campground gates are on the right.
A great place to camp, not crowded. The grounds keeper is awesome and does a very good job of keeping the one bathroom clean and free from bugs as best as possible. Loved this spot very much. Will definitely be coming back
It is a beautiful camping ground, you feel like you are 100's of miles from society but only 15 minutes away from town. There is a windixie and CVS just down the road in case you forget something. It is a primitive camp site so no running water there is an out house that is kept very clean. The lake is beautiful but seems like you need a boat or kayak to get to the fish. No one caught anything on the pier all weekend.
We love the parks and the surrounding areas, but still have yet to camp in the campgrounds.
At just $10 currently, it seems to be the best price in the area.
The lake and pier are a decent size and it was not hard to find the location.
Cost is $10 and is done by honor system at entrance. Gates weren't closed at night. Volunteer ranger was not there every night. Had place to myself 1 night. Pit toilets, boat launch, easy to drive to in a truck, even without 4 wheel drive.
Awesome for camping, no hookups but had a composting toilet. Sure sites are private and only 13 of them. The only difficulty is finding signs out on the road to lead you to the camp but my GPS put me right at their gate.
