About Campground

Bill Frederick Park covers 183 acres of land alongside Turkey Lake, one of the top-five rated fishing lakes in the state of Florida.

The park is designed for nature lovers and provides families, organizations and community groups with several recreational activities and scenic views. Minutes away from some of Orlando’s largest attractions, Bill Frederick Park also serves as the perfect alternative to hotel lodging.

The city has now installed power to the pavilion at the Drone Zone! The upgraded amenity now includes a shelf and multiple outlets allowing participants to charge their battery packs without leaving the site.

Very nice place to take the kids. Playground, pool, lake, animals, etc. I spent hours and the kids had a lot of fun. 100% recommended.

We have been staying 2-3 weeks in the campground for about 5 years. It is a quiet place most folks would enjoy. The only thing that keeps it lower rated is the bathroom/showers which badly need updating. Four toilet stalls but 2 are hardly usable. One of those is normally not working and both are very difficult to get into because of width of the door. Three have very low toilets making it difficult for elderly to sit down. Showers have some water draining issues but was slightly better this year. NO HEAT so night and early morning showers are not fun. Sinks have NO HOT WATER. Staff is almost all very friendly. This year was the first time in 5 years that housekeepers did an excellent job of cleaning. I tried to tell the lady what a great job they were doing but she spoke no English. Hope they get to come back next year. For safety at night, walks to bathrooms need small ground lighting. Reservation system is ridiculous. Campers can not book for next year’s trips until after the 45th day from their last trip so you have to wait every day to book each night. This means you have difficulty in getting all your nights on one site. We jokingly refer to each day at 11 checkout as fruit basket turnover. Love the size of the campground and its peacefulness.

The playground here is so amazing!!! They have 3 different play areas, the largest is definitely the shadiest. They’re pretty spread out between pavilions, too, with lots of room to play. There was ample parking in Lot 2 and within walking distance to the petting zoo area, as well. The bathrooms were not conveniently located, but we’re easy enough to find. I don’t know if I would pay the admission just for the playground, but if you’re here already you should definitely check it out. There’s so much to do here and would be an amazing family outing.

My buddy and I are from right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We flew into Orlando for a quick fishing trip, and we rented a boat and fished here on a Friday and a Saturday (January 19th and 20th). They only have 4 boats that are allowed on the lake, only rent them Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and only rent them from 7am to 11 am. The lake is not pressured at all, and we had lots of luck (I'll keep what we used and what spots we fished a secret). The 2 guys working the boat rental dock were super nice and very helpful. The scenery was beautiful, and the wildlife was plentiful. There are otters in the lake, and they were super fun to watch. They also have gators, but we didn't see them. Also, plenty of bird species call the lake home or use it as a stop on their migrations, so if you are into birds or wildlife in general, you will not be disappointed. We were both pleasantly surprised by how nice everyone was that we met here, and can't wait to get back to do some more fishing. We didn't visit the other parts of the park, but the lake, boats and people were all fantastic. If you want to fish in Orlando, this is a must try lake. Good luck, and tight lines!!
