This is our favorite Orange County Park and we have tried and enjoyed all of them where camping is available. While the facilities are very nice and well kept up, the people who work here are very nice which is always a pleasure. Plus, the price, even for non residents, is a good value.
What a lovely, quiet natural park. Friendly staff who keep it clean and cared for. Spacious and fairly private sites because of the way they are laid out. Perfect for cyclists with access to Apopka Lake Loop and trails. It feels like wilderness with the variety of wildlife, yet shops, laundry, restaurants etc are 10-15 minutes away. It was a pleasure to spend a few nights here although very hot in March.
It is a very pretty park and is definitely worth visiting. I gave it three stars because navigating your rig and backing in is really difficult. We have a 36' fifth wheel and I recommend if you have this size trailer or bigger I would not stay here. The trees are not trimmed so your roof will be going through limbs and the trees around the winding loop make navigating very difficult. Stayed in Site 17.
We absolutely loved this campground! We got there before they closed the gates so we were able to meet the office staff and get some information on the springs before settling in to our camp. Our camp was more than spacious, had running water and an electrical outlet. The bathrooms/showers were clean and pristine and for a germaphobe like me, clean bathroom without smell is imperative to me. I felt comfortable taking a shower in the bathroom and the hot water didn't run out. The only warning would be: the mosquitoes. Bring a mesh tent or cover to ensure a peaceful evening otherwise the fly sized mosquitos will literally attack you. All in all, we can't wait to camp here again!
Hidden little gem! Very quiet, peaceful, and full of nature. Nice bathrooms! Not a ton to do, but the walking trail is great, and you'll see some wild creatures
