Lake Delancy West provides an OHV recreation area along Lake Delancy with OHV corrals, access to numerous marked OHV trails along the Ocala North OHV Trail System, and camping along the lake. The recreation area also serves as a trailhead and designated campground along the hiking-only Florida Trail.
From Salt Springs, drive north along SR 19 for 5.7 miles to the "Lake Delancy" sign on the left side of the highway. Turn left onto 66. Follow this forest road, FR 66, around the north side of the lake to the campground and day use area entrance clearly marked on the left.
I wish more of the camping places we're like this. Pretty quiet lots of space. He was on an honor System put money in the box and you're good to go. Nice and quiet out in the middle of nowhere. It is made for the ATV trails but there are regular campsites too.
Well kept, and organized, but keep in mind that is all primitive! No water, no electricity; also there is no access to the lake nearby.
From the camping you have access to the national scenic trail, I really suggest you to hike it towards the north, after about 1 mile you'll be walking through the line nursery: one of the most suggestive sceneries along the Florida national scenic trail.
