Elk Creek Campground welcomes ALL campers to come enjoy a mountainous getaway in the colorful Colorado Rockies! There is fishing, hiking, biking, climbing, rafting, off-roading, and so much more available in the surrounding areas.
Beautiful area and well kept campground with pretty level sites. Stayed on an electric site and had a beautiful view. The host was very kind, and the restrooms were nice. My only complaint is that there were some dogs that were not leashed.
Clean restrooms, nice camp hosts! There is not much shade at the campground. The best hike we had was to Pine Creek trail head where the Gunnison River exits the damn West of Blue Mesa reservoir.
The campsite is at a really beautiful part in the forest, pretty far away from anything else so beware you won’t be able to easily access stores. Although the views are nice, the water is super cold and you don’t have really any privacy at the campsites (they are slightly spaced out though). Overall a nice place to visit but I wouldn’t stay here for a long time.
Nice location but unfortunately no trees or shade, thus less privacy and more sun. Luckily we arrived in the evening when the sun went down. Had a great swim before sunset, nice to cool down a bit. Clean toilets. Spacious RV spots with own grill and table.
Nice campground. Lovely view of the river and surrounding mesas, had clean bathrooms and sites, also had a cute little presentation at the amphitheater. Room for 2 cars and 2 tents at each site. About an hour from the Black Canyon National park. Cons: Unfortunately not all water refill station’s functioned which was a little disappointing. No showers and very little shade, although this was made known to me us in their website prior. They did allow fires, but being your own firewood because there was no one there to sell it to us at the campground. Overall had a lovely camping trip here.
