Located on the eastern shore of [Turquoise Lake], Matchless Campground is a non-reservable camprground that accomodates larger recreational vehicles. Facilities include restrooms, potable water, picnic tables, and fire rings. This campground is adjacent to the boat ramp and parking areas. Firewood is available at the host site. During weekdays, usage is moderate, but heavy on weekends. It is named after one of the profitable silver mines in Leadville that made Horace A.W. Tabor one of the riches men in America. High altitude sickness may occur at 10,000 feet.
Great campsites, right on the Lake but. No camp hosts to keep up the bathrooms and campsites..
Very nice sites fire pit with Grilling top bathroom were clean just add showers
My wife and I stayed at matchless campground for about five nights at spot 13 in early August. The campground host Stephanie was excellent! Very friendly but strict. She kept the riffraff out of there, we appreciated that. Bathrooms were cleaned twice a day. The picture is Of turquoise lake two minutes walk from our campsite
Well....it's a different style of Campground than we've ever visited while traveling 48 states.
It is a parking lot with parallel parking for your Rig along the edge. But....just below your parking spot are beautifully wooded sites overlooking the lake on the North side of the parking area.
No hookups and vault toilets but with as busy as this area is, it's a great find for us.
$26.00/night standard fee. 13.00/night if you have the America the beautiful pass.
