We had a great experience here. An underrated area of Pennsylvania.
Great well cared for campground. Friendly staff.
We were driving cross country and they accommodated our request for an early check in without an issue
We will be back for a longer stay
The owners are super hospitable, and personally welcomed us to to campground. The sight we had was nice and level, and worked perfectly for our small pop up camper.
Thank you for the great stay!
Generally the bookings for here fill up quickly. Often the elk roam right through this campground. Your surrounded by mountain hills and within 30 minutes of most lookout points and places of interest. There is water hookups and campfire rings in place. There is no full hookup (sewage) but there is a dump station. There is also no shower house, but free wifi across the campgrounds. Quite little getaway great for elk viewing, a growing best kept secret of the area.
We stayed here for 3 nights in September 2023 and loved every minute of it. The campground is immaculately maintained. Heads up that there are no laundry or shower facilities, and the only bathroom is an outhouse, but there is a dump station if you're traveling in an RV. Even with the lack of facilities (or maybe because of it), this little campground is truly a gem. There is a creek running alongside the road just in front of the campground and elk walk through it!
The owner's son, Ben, was very knowledgeable about the area and a lot of fun to talk to. There's a large structure (the garage) with sofas, chairs, and a pool table which is open sometimes and provides a place to watch big screen TV and hang out. If you're looking to really relax and enjoy nature, this is the place to do it.
I love this campground! It's clean and friendly in a quiet area. There are a variety of spots to choose from for a good price. I was lucky and saw elk right in the campground on my first visit. There's also a beautiful creek just across the road. The owner was incredibly nice and even drove the firewood over. It's about 20 minutes from the visitors center, which makes for a nice short drive in the morning when you're heading to the viewing areas. It's also 3 minutes from a Bar and Grill that had delicious food. Even better, there's free wifi!
