I'm beginning my third winter at Desert Sands, and I'm more convinced than ever that I chose wisely. The park came under new management several years ago, and the improvements have been steady. The laundry facility is clean, the machines reliable, and the front office always has quarters, which saves me a trip to the bank. The clubhouse is comfortable, kinda cozy, and it opens onto the pool and hot tub. The dog walks are kinda small, but there are two of them, and they're well appointed. There are get-togethers monthly, often with food, and they're always fun. And there's always a night-watch at the front gate who also cruises the park on a golf cart, keeping an eye. It may not be necessary, but I appreciate that management considers my safety and well-being. But the best part of DSRVP is the people, particularly the staff. Friendly, considerate, and helpful, they make this place home. They've all lived in the area for years, so they can usually answer whatever question comes up. Don't hesitate to make a reservation -- and I'd advise that you do. We're kinda popular.
We Moved to Desert Sands in December and are Happy We did! It's Very Well Kept the Staff is Always Friendly Go Above & Beyond to Make U Feel Welcome and at Home! Very Safe Quite at Night!
Is this a scenic park? No. Is this a top-of-the-line park? No. Is it free of full-timer hoarders and some run-down RVs? No. Is it clean and quiet with good size spaces, full hookups, and excellent Wifi and cell service? YES! They also have a pool but we never used it. For reference, we currently live on the road full-time in our 40' fifth wheel with large Chevy truck.
We were staying at a different RV resort on Lake Mead but needed somewhere to stay for a couple weeks between when we left Lake Mead for a different area. This fit the bill for what we needed. Super nice people working the front office, close to everything you could want or need, and all guests/residents keep to themselves.
We did overhear neighbors talking about engaging in some less-than-legal activities but nobody was bothering anybody else. We always kept everything locked up but in general we felt very safe. I definitely wouldn't want to live there for longer than a week or two but if we were back in the area and needed somewhere to stay, we'd be back at Desert Sands no problem.
Perfect quiet little park. Friendliest staff I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Cameron is awesome and will do anything for you to make sure you're comfortable. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.
