Overall great camp experience for summer camp 2018. There's things that could be better, but the kids had fun, they learned new skills, and grew; which is what Boy Scout camp is all about.
Through my almost 10 years of scouting, D-Bar-A has been not only my go to scout camp for amazing expierences but my second home and is truly the best place on earth!
September 2022 - came here for an event for the day. It was a little tricky finding our location. They had Archery, fishing, and other events for the scouts that day. Volunteers there were great and very helpful. My girls had a great time and did not want to leave.
I love this camp and camped here a lot as a kid, this is however the first time I have been back to the camp in almost twenty years. Over all the camp is in pretty good condition but it could use some work in a few areas as it still feels just like it did twenty years ago, not like a modern camp you would expect. I also understand that enrollment in scouting has been in decline but seeing Beaver Lake water front in such poor condition was saddening as I put in some great years in working at the waterfront during my teenage years.
D-Bar-A out did themselves this year with programming! We were very impressed with their staff as they worked with our Scouts. Their activities director Sam went above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe and had a great time at camp. All of the staff were upbeat and pleasant - it set the mood for the campers. We love D-Bar-A! You can't beat the waterfront and the beautiful grounds here!
