We stayed at Cooper Lake RV resort for a week. (Sunday to Sunday)

I would rate it a 1 Star.

The stay started poorly right from the start. We booked through Roverpass and picked site #8.

We were sent a confirmation for site #8 and when we arrived they put us on Site # 48 ( right by the road, 4 lane highway maybe 20 yards away and right next to one of the gates to the park)

The site Manager when questioned said site #8 was taken and it was #48 or nothing.( pre-paid non-refundable through Roverpass - Gotcha) Site 8 sat empty till Thursday. The rules do say they reserve the right to move people.

We are first time snowbirds, checking out sites for a future more permanent stay. Putting us on the least desirable site for the week was not a really good Marketing Strategy.

There really is not much to do at this Cooper Lake. There is no real access to the Lake and looking at it from the campsite there was a 6 ft chain link fence blocking the way. They had some games and what looked like it should be a shuffleboard and a sign saying get Horseshoes and Cornhole bags at office. ( No one at office had to call a number for someone to come).

Cooper Lake is under new management and in our travels – 7 weeks at different sites it seems most of them are. They are trying had to remove most of the Trailer Park trailers and turn it into a resort. ( Sorry adding Resort to the name and putting in a community area does not make it a Resort)

Cooper Lake is mostly still a Trailer Park using campers instead of double wide trailers. (can get more campers in the same space)

It is more affordable than other RV Parks in the area and I wish them luck on their efforts to develop the Resort but we will not be back.

We had to have a place to keep our camper while our house was being built as well as a place to stay when in FL during this process as our primary house is in SC. We picked a site but owner suggested a better more private spot which we appreciated. We weren't there as much as we wanted to be but our camper was safe with no issues. Management was easy to interact with. We would definitely recommend Cooper RV Campground.
