There are forty camp sites at Cook Park. Tents, campers, and RV's are welcome. Sites have: 30 or 20 amp electrical hook-ups, potable water, garbage pick-up, a fire ring and picnic table.
Camping area has a bath house with hot showers, and a pavilion for campers use. A dumping station is also on premises.
Season: May 15th through Columbus Day
Cook Park is conveniently located one mile east of the Town of Greene, in southern Chenango County. From Route 206, go south on Stein Road, up the hill to Parks Road. Park entrance is 1/2 mile up on the right.
It has four baseball fields,BBQ area with a roof, plenty of parking and entrance to a trail that takes you through Tibbetts Brook Park or if taken north takes you alongside Saw Mill River Parkway. Good place to run around with kids and use of an open field.
The park itself is amazing. The people that come there and sit in their cars are not. I would say definitely worth the visit. Lots of pups and pup parents. Mostly all responsible besides those that do not pick up after their pets. So I guess the nature part is beautiful the people that trash it not so much.
What happened 2 cook field more fences than the county jail and penitentiary no more ball fields 18 million plus 4 what
Just put a all new pavilion in,looks great can't wait for it to open, should be before memorial day 2019
Update Jan 2024:
You can now drive into the park and use the parking lot by the county rail trail. I assume you can use the picnic grounds also; however, a permit is required as far as I know. The bathrooms are NOT normally open.
They are doing some construction inside the grass field area - which is currently closed to the public. I believe they may be putting in the playing field lighting.
Status as of July 2023:
Redmond field is still under renovation and not yet open to the public. There will no longer be softball fields. I believe they will have a Celtic football field enclosed by fencing and Stadium type lighting. You must have a city permit to play on those fields. I believe the other areas of the park will be open to the public once the field is finished. There is a renovated, Pavilion picnic area with grills for use by permit only. There are also new bathrooms; however, these are not generally left open unless the field or picnic area is rented.
The two pictures posted were from a city meeting and are the artist rendering of the plan.
