Watching the bald eagles is an amazing experience. My kids love going there. The lake does have leaches. Camping is free
When I was growing up this lake was the place to be the place to fish the place to swim in the place to camp always full always good time lake was at its best. Nowadays it is a mess they only let it feel to drain it and it's usually a swampy small stream, not sure if they ever stock it with fish anymore
This is our local spot, and yes, we love it. Just sad there are now so many vandals camping all over, and spoiling it for good, clean, and kind campers.
Free camping for 7 days. Alot of cows some geese. Trash cans and porta potties on site. Friendly town people. Although some traffic noise from highway, it was minimal and didn't bother us.
At one point in time it looks like someone cared & this was a beautiful, quiet little campground. There’s about 20 spots for folks to set up camp on a 7 DAY LIMIT! Most spots have a concrete slab to park & level out your camper. It’s pretty quiet in the beginning of April & most the trash cans & picnic tables are gone. Only one porta-potty.
Lake itself is pretty darn low & hopefully monsoon season will fill her back up a little.
NO POWER / NO WATER / NO RV DUMP
Over all though; it’s a pretty nice campground away from the hustle & bustle of the White Mountains but still close enough to make all the events during the summer peak!
If I ever comeback through, I will definitely stay here again. Had full service of 5G signal! Straight across the road is a convenience store, a place to fill propane & water!
