< Previous Next > Lakeview Campground is located near Upper Lake Mary with easy access to the water via the Wood Memorial Trail (0.5 miles) or by car. Many other lakes such as Ashurst Lake, Kinnikinick Lake, Marshall Lake, and Lower Lake Mary are within easy driving distance, as are many hiking trails, including the Arizona Trail. The lakes are stocked with a variety of fish including trout, bass, and channel catfish. Upper Lake Mary is also popular with power boaters and there is currently no motor size limit (most other lakes in the area have an 10 horsepower motor size limit). Lakeview Campground is a tent camper’s paradise with its terraced, hillside camp sites creatively tucked in amongst an open old growth stand of ponderosa pine. With all the easy forest and lake access, this is a also great place for wildlife watchers. Many visitors report seeing bald eagle, osprey, migratory waterfowl, great blue heron, elk, and mule deer.
In Flagstaff, AZ, off Interstate 17, take Exit 339 (Lake Mary Rd./Mormon Rd.). Turn south onto Lake Mary Rd. and go 13 miles to campground sign. Turn left into campground.
We came from Colorado and were pleasantly suprise with the campground! It is so close to the lake! A short paved trail private to the campground will take you there. Although the sites are close together, the trees and the placement of each site helps with privacy. It's build on the side of a large hill and so some of the sites are not flat/level. We stayed at 16. Fairly flat and kinda down into the hill. It was beautiful.
The camp host was amazing. He said "I want everyone to arrive at a campground that I'd like to arrive at." It's very clean and the bathrooms (they are still vault toilets) are very clean. He cleans them twice a day.
Did a camping here in June 2023. Campsite is clean, with sufficient space to peg your tent and park your car. The trail at the backside is also nice, takes you to the hill, giving nice views of the lake. The night sky is amazing. We clicked many beautiful pics.
Washrooms are clean. One water tap is available outside of every washroom.
The host was very helping and friendly.
Very well maintained campground, clean restrooms, access to water, ice/wood available for purchase. Only half mile walk to the lake, spacious tent spots and lots of trees, what's not to love
We stayed campsite 11. It was nice the way it was layedout. The views are beautiful. Very clean and spacious. You can hear the campers next to you but it wasnt a problem for us. Only negative for this specific spot was in the morning you can really smell the bathroom that is right across. I heard coyotes in the night as well but i guess it is normal for arizona.
Lakeview Campground is great! Loved the site set up, clean bathrooms, .5 paved trail access to the lake, quiet campground, we got a first come first serve site on a Saturday after 11:30am, and camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. Would come back! Just fyi, Maps took us to an apartment complex first so make sure to find the coordinates or just double check your address!
