This campground sets on a hill above Steamboat Lake and has a variety of RV/trailer/tent sites available. Some with a lot of trees and others in open areas with wild grasses around the site. Many have views of the lake and all have views of the the nearby mountains. This is a Colorado state campground and each site has a picnic table and a fire pit. Clean flush toilets and water spigots are in each loop. Some sites have electric hookups.
The campground that we got didn't have much shade, but the lake nearby was worth it. Near the tent site, there is a place to get water, and the place where I was staying have flush toilets. They have showers near the lake, which you pay in quarters, and they let you use their outlets to pump up things you want to bring on the water. The weather in the afternoon was very hot, but the early morning was cold. It has good views of the lake, and trails you can go on, which allow dogs. There were almost no mosquitoes at all. The camp host was very helpful, too. Overall, a great place to go. The reasons that I wouldn't give this five stars is because there wasn't much shade, there were no lights at night in the bathroom, and because of the long drive.
Nice place overall, will go back again. Spot 15 is a great spot. The hike to the lake is not too far and pretty peaceful and quiet . The sunset is amazing even from your tent /camper. Very neat place with clean toilets as well
Lovely country views. Sites are slightly spread out. Elevation 8,000 ft. Very nice community restrooms and shower building. There is no dumpsite here.
Just like the name, the sunrise here is very beautiful, especially at the lake ! But you can still enjoy it from the tentsite too. The campground is clean with fire pit on each tent site. They have a clean flush toilet and a hot shower ! You can rent kayak, canoe, paddle board or boat at the marina. There are many trails that you can choose too. One thing that I don't like is, there aren't much trees to shade our campsite so it is hot in the afternoon. Other than that, I like the campground.
