This is a small group area that has room for 5 vehicles and 25-30 people. It is located within the La Wis Wis campground . La Wis Wis is a large campground (100 sites) located right off of US Highway 12 at the junction of the Clear Fork of the Cowlitz and the Ohanapecosh River. It is situated in an old growth stand of Douglas Fir, Hemlock and Cedar. Most sites offer good privacy. The Purcell Falls Trail #162A and the Blue Hole Trail #167 originate from the campground and offer views of the falls and the Blue Hole along the Ohanapecosh.
From Packwood, WA go four miles east on S.R. 12 to campground. This site is located within the La Wis Wis Campground.
Beautifully kept grounds. Excellent campground hosts as well. Yurt was awesome! Only explored about 1.5 miles of the 16 mile long hiking trail / fishing spots. Lot of blow-down from the recent windstorms/rain though.
Highly reccomend this spot.
Coho campground is located in the Olympic National Forest on the west shore of Wynoochee Lake. As part of the emerald paradise which is the Olympic National Forest. The campground has 44 regular campsites to accommodate tents, trailers, & RVs up to 36'. It also has 2 group sites that can accommodate 12 to 16 people, Also has 3 heated yurts. They have flush toilets & drinking water & trash containers. RV dump station nearby & has a boat launch near also.
Awesome campground! Love the proximity to the lake. You can swim, kayak, boat, and canoe. Also lots of hiking. Campground is very well maintained, bathrooms are clean, and camp host were great. FYI if you have a America the beautiful access pass, the camp fee is half off.
Oh and look by the paths for the Gnome home and bring a painted rock to leave there!

Great campground with spacious sites, friendly staff, and running water in the restrooms. Many back-in sites are long and seem like they can accommodate two vehicles and two small trailers next to each other. The pull-through sites are also long but the back-in sites offer more privacy. Tracy, Shane, and Isaac were super friendly. They stop by each campsite around 7pm for the Kids’ Candy Hour, free candy for the little ones. Upon request, they’ll deliver firewood ($7/bundle) and ice ($4/10-lb. bag). They also keep the facilities looking great. The restrooms with running water in the slinks and flushing toilets were kept clean. The toilet in Loop B might clog but there’s a plunger. The swimming area is perfect for paddle boards and kayaks. Big buoys block it off from the rest of the lake and provide protection from boat/jetski wake. The shore consists of pebbles and rocks so not good for beach umbrellas. There are some trees but recommend bringing shade if you need it. Canopies with tent stakes will work best. BONUS: We got spotty LTE Verizon service at the swimming area on the walking path. Overall, loved our experience at Coho Campground and will definitely return!
Had a great time camping here! Beautiful lake, plenty of hiking trails, boat launch and day use area. The camp host really make this place special though. Bathrooms were always clean, they delivered fire wood to camp sites and had a candy hour at 7pm for the kids. Really unfortunate that the usfs plans to end their contract and no longer have a camp host here. Im sure it wont be as clean and family friendly without them.
