Old School motor inns are a rare find these days! This one has not been sold out on the international circuit. It is exceptionally clean, clean bathroom, clean tile and even grout. Everything works! Nice staff, location appears very safe. Surrounded by beautiful historic live oak trees, a cafe, a large park with more humongous trees. This gem is well worth your traveling dollar!
My buddies and I have been staying here for a long time. The previous owner Roger and his managers did an outstanding job keeping his motel clean and tidy. It's not anymore. It's to bad the new owner doesn't seem to care about her investment and who she hires. The manager Cindy is rude. Time will tell.
I’ve been staying here for hunting season for 5+ years. The previous owner roger was fantastic and always went above and beyond to ensure everything was above satisfactory. The current owner doesn’t seem to care about quality or repeat business as the beds are now full size as opposed to the old queen beds and The new bed frames are extremely cheap and the legs are broken under both beds in our room (and other rooms) we are a group of hunting buddies. The air mattress a buddy was provided (and charged for as an extra guest) was flat when he woke up at 5:00 am to go hunting. Myself , wife, and daughter stayed in the large camper the previous weekend and the A/C in the bedroom put out a smell like raw sewage, no key to lock the door and has a huge hole in front of the refrigerator covered with loose lumber and rugs. The bunk room slide out can not be used as the kitchen hole goes into that room as well. The tvs in the camper also do not work. You get 2 snowy/blurry channels in the living room and absolutely nothing in the bedroom (the camper cost more than a room). The rooms have had new flooring which is nicer than the old carpet but the beds are terrible at best! We stayed for 5 years because of the “hunters rate” as well as there is only 1 other place to stay locally which has no parking. Time to buy a camper and stay somewhere else from here on out. It’s sad because the place has truly gone downhill which is hard for a motel that has the weekly monthly rate appeal. It seems the new owner only cares about the money coming in and not putting anything back into the business!! The rate has gone up over 50% from the old owner to the current and the quality has certainly gone down. Hopefully they get this turned around very quickly or this place will be another old junky building in Mayo. Cindy the manager has been very nice and does accommodate as best as she seems to be able to. All complaints aside the room is very clean..
Run by some of the sweetest ladies in town who definitely will not take any garbage though.
this place has friendly personality and lots of beautiful cats that they love walking around. Stores right across street n springs near by
This motel is going down hill.
The previous owner Rodger took excellent care of this place.
I have been coming here for 16 years during hunting season.
No room service, just empty garbage cans and replace towels.
Prices overpriced. Remember this is a small town.
No ice machine and pop machine didn't work.
This place won't last long with this owner.
Lost my business and my other hunting buddies business, too!
