20 miles east of Montrose on U.S. Highway 50, located in the vicinity of a historic narrow gauge railroad town, Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad exhibits, and access to Crystal Reservoir near Morrow Point Dam.
Small campground, hardly ever filled up when staying there late July early August, nice campground host, river access and trail just behind the campground.
It was handy for the time of day we were passing through. Close to the road but serviceable. Very attentive camp hosts.
Absolutely one of the best experiences of my life. Very neat camping area, beautiful walk along Cimarron River. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Campground hosts were very friendly, helpful, and informative.
Great place to go rockhounding! Campground was great! Super clean bathroom facilities. Don’t miss the rock collection at Newberry’s store.
