About Campground

Our establishment is just a short walk from The Chassahowitzka River ("River of Hanging Pumpkins" in Seminole language), a gateway to spectacular scenery, wildlife and some of the best paddling in Florida! If you've never heard of it before, come and check us out!We offer Full Hook Up RV sites and Primitive Tent camping.

We allow up to two pets per site with no additional charge. All that we ask is that you email the up to date shot records to [email protected]. Pets will not be permitted without them.

Both the RV camping and primitive camping areas are partially shaded with mature oaks, cedars, pines and palms. The individual RV sites feature fire rings, picnic tables, 30 or 50 amp electrical service, sewer connections, and spigots for potable water. There is a wifi signal broadcast throughout the RV Park. There is a dump station near the entrance to the RV park. The tent or primitive camping area is separate from the RV Park, further to the west. It also features fire rings and picnic tables at each campsite. Our tent sites are completely primitive, therefore there is no electricity at the sites, however we do have 6 communal water spigots for your convenience.

Came here on a whim while traveling through and was very pleasantly surprised. Tent camping sites are nice, spacious, private and quiet. The bathhouse was clean and provided nice showers. There's a boat launch on site which is convenient. I don't have 1 complaint about this place. My boyfriend and I have already planned on coming back just for this campground. Can't wait to be back!

My inaugural stay at Chassahowitzka River Campground surpassed all expectations! Tucked away in Homosassa, Florida, this hidden oasis boasts an abundance of natural beauty. The well-maintained campsites were surrounded by lush greenery, providing a peaceful atmosphere. The staff's warmth and helpfulness made my first-time experience truly enjoyable. The campground's clean amenities and proximity to nature trails were a pleasant surprise. Exploring the enchanting Chassahowitzka River on my first visit was an adventure to remember. I'm already looking forward to my next escape to this nature lover's paradise!

I am not sure how all these negative reviews happened! My family and I love to come down to stay at this campground and the people are great! The reason that we come is the pure nature of the place and the ability to go swimming with the manatees or in the crystal clear waters, WE LOVE THIS PLACE!

Matter a fact I am going book a spot agian right now!

We stayed here for our first time during Thanksgiving week 2023. The family that owns this campground is incredibly kind and hosted Thanksgiving dinner for the whole campground. The campground itself is beautiful, with easy river access and only a short walk from the campsites to the boat ramp and camp store. The tent camping area was very nice as well. The laundry room was clean and machines are attached to an app, so there's no guessing as to when your laundry is done. Sites are a little tight to get into, but otherwise, are beautiful and surrounded by trees. The bugs are abundant, bring spray with deet. Or better yet, a screened canopy tent to keep the bugs away. We are already making plans to visit again!

Absolute gem!

We rented a tandem kayak for $35 bucks all day.

7 sisters springs is just to right from the launch.

Make sure to grab a map to visit the various springs along the river.

Love me some springs!!
