About Campground

Whiting Park is located on Lake Charlevoix in Eveline Township, between Boyne City and Ironton. It is situated on approximately 240 acres of beautiful forest with 4 miles of hiking trails. The park includes a campground with 58 campsites, 14 of which are universally accessible and 11 of those are equipped with electric, up to 50 amp service. The campsites are all located on or near one-half mile of Lake Charlevoix beach. A modern shower building and a pump-out station with potable water are available.

Whiting Park also has rental facilities, including a large pole building (with a kitchen) that seats up to 250 people, a classic 1940's log cabin that seats up to 60 people, and two secluded pavilions with picnic tables and electricity. A children's playground and more picnic tables are located in the open area near the log cabin. These facilities are perfect for a wedding reception, family reunion, graduation party, or company picnic. More and more weddings are performed on the beach.

Nice campground, clean facilities. Staff is always helpful, but this is were good ends.

Camped here twice. We constantly had rusted out cars driving through the property with strange individuals staring at you.

Yesterday 3 police vehicles came and stayed for couple hours. Supposedly some campers had a fight of some sort.

Doesn’t feel safe to stay there with kids.

Bathrooms are nasty and you have to pay to shower, but the camp sites are gorgeous and it’s a nice little area to camp. Beach is just a hundred feet or less away.

Campground is very nice and well kept. Smaller number of campsites than state park is nice. Not crammed together. Direct beach access.

We came in last minute, called the office and we’re able to snag a water front rustic site for only $15 (there is a $7 reserve charge per booking regardless if you book online or over the phone). We liked it so much we decided to extend our stay and luckily they had a cancellation so we only had to move 5 sites down. It seems some off reviews may have resembled a different ownership. The showers are currently free and posted as “until further notice” and bathrooms are 8/10 and checked multiple times a day. The park staff empties trash in the mornings. Ice is $2 a bag. We’ve had zero complaints and are enjoying our stay!
