I highly recommend Cedar Creek Campground to anyone looking for a beautiful Pine Barrens kayak trip. I used their shuttle service today with a group of friends for a 7-mile kayak trip. They also offer rentals for anyone that doesn’t have a kayak. The Cedar Creek paddle was beautiful and Cedar Creek Campground has a well-run setup for their kayaks shuttle service and rental!

Stayed here with several friends in tents over two nights in late April. We had a great time here in the evenings after our days training at the nearby county park. Our tents sat on soft sand, the evenings were still cool, so no bugs. We were able to have a campfire our second night (winds were too high the night before). Each site had a picnic table (though some are getting pretty worn out with the wood starting to deteriorate) and water. This appears to mostly cater to RV folks and the bathrooms and showers that were open to us tenters prior to the opening of the main season were a little on the rough side for some of our lady friends. Longtime backpackers will still find it all glorious by comparison to primitive sites (meaning working toilets, sinks, lights etc.). The temps were still perfect sleeping weather as well, so all the better.

This is the fourth year staying here and we will continue next year. The staff is great, other campers are friendly. Campground is clean and decently priced for the shore. Many things within a half hour to do. All around just a great little campground

I would not recommend for family group camping. We called several times to try to reserve the group campground or at least reserve lots that were right next to each other so we could all be together. They would not allow either. They said it was first come, first serve. So, we made sure to get there early, so we could get lots next to each other. The person at the front desk would not accommodate us. In fact, it appeared intentional that we were split up as there were several empty lots near us. We even requested a specific lot and was told that it was already reserved. Not only did this contradict the "first come, first serve" policy they told us, but the lot remained empty the whole weekend. Furthermore, the group campsite that we had requested several times was empty the whole weekend. I could understand if we were young adults attempting to "party" so they wanted to split us up. However, it was a group of veterans with several children that ranged from 1 to 10 years old. It was very disappointing and frustrating that they would not accommodate our request to be grouped together. Instead, we ended up having to walk around the campsite to see each other.

The pool was great and no complaints with the amenities, but this campsite is not for groups.

Full time RVer here who has visited 100+ parks in the last 3 years. First, to start off, the reviews about the office staff (who appear to be the owners) are true. While they weren’t necessarily rude to me, they are NOT hospitable people. I get it that it’s Jersey, but despite living in NC now, I was born and raised on Long Island so I can handle the attitude. They weren’t very welcoming and kinda intimidated me, which is very hard to do.

The campground can be so nice if they just did some upkeep. I stayed right after 4th of July so don’t let them respond that they weren’t ready for Summer like other reviews. The place is totally overrun with weeds. Every planter, around the pool fence, inside the pool area, the playground. Weeds EVERYWHERE. And these aren’t weeds that just got skipped over in a week. These are weeds that appears they gave up maintaining the grounds years ago. Even the basketball hoop doesn’t have a net and upon close examination, it’s because the hooks are rusted out. Spend $100 and buy a new basketball goal!

Another negative is the pool closes early! Anywhere from 6-7pm. My assumption is that because it’s such a deep pool that the county requires lifeguards and they don’t wanna employ lifeguards for times that aren’t very busy. Half the lifeguards just stare at their phone all day anyway.

The location is great. 25 mins to the beach. Lots of close restaurants nearby and a nice bayfront park very close by. I hope the owners read this and work on their park. Be a little friendlier and more patient. Remember we are coming in from a long drive into a very new area. Don’t expect us to know all your rules and everything right off the bat. Hire a landscaper! Spend a little money on the upkeep of the park. It will go a long way.
