About Campground

We purchased our land on New Years Day 2019.

Due to the lack of water, there has never really been any agriculture or farming done on the property. As the new owners and stewards of this land, we are learning a lot about permaculture, biodynamic farming, and working on our plans of what we can/will do with this land. In the meantime, we just have lots of fun on the property and love sharing it with friends, family, campers, and our dogs.

Our property consists of:

43 rugged/hilly/mountainous acres with numerous flat plateaus and fantastic views.

Each plateau has several great spots to car/van/truck camp, pitch a tent or park small trailers and small RVs. We now have renovated vintage trailer for you to campout in as well!

Larger RVs/Trailers fit on the front side of our property.

We have huge aluminum cowboy cold dunk tubs available at what we lovingly/jokingly refer to as our very own “Cactus Flower Beach,” which is not a real beach… It feels like a beach because we’ve decked it out with lounge chairs, a daybed cabana, 150K pounds of sand and tiki-hut umbrellas. It’s really fun to hang out there when it’s hot under the shade of the pepper trees. NOTE: The Outdoor Shower screening is a tad see-through. If you're shy, wear a bathing suit. Please limit showers to 3-5 minutes max. Mineral Water Definition: Water from a mineral spring or well (i.e. our well) that contains various minerals, such as salts and sulfur compounds.

We have hammocks in the Garden, Common Area by the barn, and at Cactus Flower Beach. Feel free to drag them into the sun or under the shade and take advantage of a nice afternoon siesta. Feel free to feed the goats and chickens your vegetable scraps and or bring them a treat they love full heads of cabbage, lettuce, cantaloupe, and watermelon.

SUMMER/FALL:

Expect the landscape and views to be golden brown (not green and lush like in a lot of the photos posted which were taken this past winter/spring.)

Plan on being fully self-sufficient at your private camp area.

Otherwise, feel free to use the common area at the barn until 10 pm.

COMMON USE AREA:

Inside and near the barn includes tables, chairs, hammocks, wood fire pit, outdoor propane BBQ and stove, small indoor kitchen available by reservation/pre-approval, outdoor mineral shower, and mineral cold plunge tubs.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS for THINGS TO DO WHILE YOU VISIT THE AREA:

WINE TASTING:

We are in the heart of the wine country with a tasting room less than one mile away and/or a few short miles into Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, and/or Los Olivos.

BEACHES and HIKING:

We are 5 minutes from the beach.

You can hike all over our property, see below for a list of all our recommendations.

RESTAURANTS/DINING:

1\. Industrial Eats, Buellton

2\. Ramen Kotori, Solvang

3\. La Tequila Mexican Restaurant, Buellton (NOTE: They don’t actually serve tequila but the food is GREAT!)

5\. Antonio's Pizza (Great Pizza but they don't deliver)

6\. Hitching Post, Buellton

7\. Trattoria Grappolo, 2 locations: Santa Ynez and Solvang

8 HOOK’d Bar and Grill at Lake Cachuma (20 minutes to the lake)

BEACHES:

1\. Gaviota State Beach (6 miles south of our ranch)

2\.Tajiguas Beach (15 miles south of our ranch)

3\. Jalama Beach County Park (30-minute beautiful windy drive, but well worth it especially if you want to get one of the worlds best burgers at the campground store)

FUN for KIDS and ADULTS:

2\. Mendenhall's Museum of Gasoline Pumps & Petroliana, Buelton

We look forward to hosting you.

Sincerely, Sierra and Darin

Simply perfect. Amazing family environment with so much to do. I think I want to live here;) it’s astonishing how this magical place really is. Grab a drink, the famous “white stallion” tour ride, feed barn animals, get involved in making this wonderfully built place stay amazing by supporting the working barn cats and working dogs. Come join the community events, bbq on one of many grill, relax by the community fire and get that free first drink. Free dog farms @cactus flower ranch you can help Harvest the vegetable gardens and eat fresh every night, or just hang out at one of many camp sites for a quiet get away. guaranteed to come back. I’ll see you there🤗

Absolutely Wonderful in Every Way!

- hosts are timely, communicative, professional and caring. Seriously, the nicest most genuine couple we have met in some time

- property has the best views, well cared for and an absolute gem especially if you have dogs. We have two Vizsla’s and they were able to runs their legs off

- campsites all are well thought out, spacious, include propane fire pits, killer views

We were there last weekend with three families (two small airstreams and a Class B). We would sit around the fire at night looking at a sky full of stars commenting on the hosts, the property and the campsites.

Definitely will return!!

This place was amazing. My fiancé had been here once before with our dogs for a solo getaway and loved it so much that we went back the next chance he had. We had some drinks in the cool bar/barn area. The owners Sierra & Darren were so warm and welcoming gave us a tour of their campsites and made us feel at home. Our dogs loved it too and were able to be comfortable as well. Can’t wait for our next trip back.
