Amazing rustic camp!

CampOut Alabama is a beautiful relaxing retreat. Steve and Brandon host an amazing campground. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This is a great place to go if you want to experience the beauty of South Alabama. The pool, hot tub, and clubhouse are very clean. We stayed for 4 days in our 44' Montana camper. For RVs: the hook ups were great. The water is awesome and they had plenty of power. The camp is down a hard/ sandy dirt road and some of the turns are kinda tight for big rigs.

Please give this place a try if you want to camp out in nature! Everyone there shows true southern hospitality! We will be back for some fun.

The people are nice but think of it as more of a gay retirement community than a normal campground. It's almost all permanent occupant sites. Also extremely minimal hiking in the area.

This is a really beautiful campground with nice tall pines, super friendly and helpful staff, and lovely pool and club house. It was pretty quiet during the week and the weekend picked up the energy. Really great stay, highly recommend!

I have been frequenting this campground either as a transient or permanent site-renter for many years under three sets of owners. IMHO and by far, the current owners have done the best job. Steve and Brandon (the on-site management team) go beyond expectations to assist all guests. The owners, while they do live out of the area, have the best managment team in place and they very much deserve credit for that. The facilities, while not the newest, are maintained very well and kept clean. When I read the criticisms posted on this website, I just have to laugh. Now that the campground is experiencing renewed popularity, visitors and guests hopefully realize this is a RUSTIC campground, off the beaten path. It is not a RESORT in that the site is wooded, so it is going to be dark at night. The pool is going to be cold because the well water supplying it is cold! Internet service is sometimes spotty because the campground sits in a valley! Who wants to be tied to the internet when camping anyway? Get your face out of your phone for a minute. Pull thru sites are tight because trees have been preserved, not clear cut. I don't think the owners are cheap as one commenter posted. But I imagine they have a budget and when something unexpectedly breaks down, like the hot tub, it takes a little time to get it fixed and figure how NOT to break that budget when doing so. In any case, the negative comments are a miniscule minority. The positive comments vastly outnmber the negative. Decide for yourself, and don't rely too heavily on other's opinions.
