Me and my family just spent 6 days at camp Hatteras we had a amazing time. I read all the reviews on Google and I do have to say most of the negative ones are really not the campgrounds issue. The campground is very well maintained and clean. Almost everyone is friendly and nice. We did run into a couple people that where cutting thought our site and some rude people on the beach but hey that's everywhere you go anymore. All I have to say is the campground can't teach manners. All and all it is an amazing place will return. If I had one thing to say bad it would be they need to inforce the rules a little more and not just the ones they want to but this was a minor thing. 5 stars all day!

Beautiful campground in a great location in the outer banks. Lots of good places to eat between Hatteras and Nags Head. We came the first week in September checking in on Labor Day. The park is clean and staff were out there daily doing maintenance. There were record highs that week and it was excruciatingly hot. The mosquitos were a real pain, I wish they could spray the grass with something to keep them at bay but realize that may not be possible due to pets or it may not help. Biting flies at the beach were super bad too, so often times we would retreat to the swimming pool which was clean, well maintained, and quite large with an indoor section as well. There were hot tubs too but honestly it was so hot we never got in those. There's a small camp store with essentials and souvenirs. My dogs enjoyed the dog park, it's large and there's ample cleanup supplies and a watering station. If you have kids, there is a nice playground area in the park. We would come here again, but in a shoulder season so we can avoid the bugs and humidity. Highly recommend Tavern on 12 in Hatteras or Miller's Waterfront Nags Head for an awesome seafood meal.

Camp Hatters is a really nice camp ground but the site were closer together than I was expecting. The facilities were clean and well maintained. The only complaint that have is there was a lady in the pool with her service dog on her stomach not even in the water. She was refused to remain in pool with her service dog. This EXTREMELY upset me and I thought she should be able to keep her service dog with her since he wasn't even wet or swimming in the pool unattended. People have these service animal for a reason and refusing that person their service animal/dog is uncalled for.

Just a superb experience. The amenities for little kids and keeping them active and having fun are great. The beach is just gorgeous and the locations is really nice, quiet and peaceful. We had a blast and wish we could have stayed longer.

Can't say enough about this resort. A true class act from facilities to staff. We actually ended up here on accident after an aggressive experience up the road where we had to exit several days before our intended stay, and we couldn't have lucked out any better. We'll also return annually now. Beach access, sunrise AND sunsets, awesome staff, clean well-kept property, so much to do. Can't beat the location. One thing... as other reviews mention, they can definitely do better limiting the amount of kids on golf carts speeding. Pulling out one day, my van was rear ended by a cart. I got out and it was an 8 year old girl driving with her mom as a passenger. Luckily no injuries and I let the scratches go, because theyre just scratches, but this was the norm around the resort which is against resort rules. I wouldn't downgrade the rating because parents need to step up first.

We'll be back regardless and loved the resort!
