Sorely disappointed! Sad we chose to come here for my cub scouts first day camp. Poorly run, slow moving, unenthusiastic staff. Hope they can improve.
During our day camp a youth staff member pointed a gun at one of our kids.
Parking created a fire hazard. Staff was lazy. The list goes on. We reached out for a refund and got zero replies for 2 months, finally the reply was basically:
- no refund
- that boy wasn't malicious, so the safety concern is unjustified.
- we've already gone over your repeated emails (but never replied)
- our costs are justified, your complaints aren't.
This is a great camp at a great location. It is so convenient for those of us that live in northern Utah County. Since 2018 is it's first operating year, it is still missing some of the great amenities that many of the other camps have, however the convenience makes up for that. Can't wait to take my Boy Scouts here to camp.
We had a great time with 8-11yr old girls here. There is adequate shade at each station. The rotations had a great amount of time for the girls to finish each project/activity. Our den leader was so fun and took time to chat with the girls and have fun as we walked from place to place. My only suggestion would be to add more tables for lunch. When we were all together we didn’t fit. Overall, the camp is shaping up to be wonderful as more improvements are made.
Update June 2019: Someone must have listened, because the price was dropped from $50 to only $25 for scouts this year, and from $10 to Free for leaders. This price change was fantastic! Also Chet the camp leader was extremely friendly, and bent over backwards to accommodate our group. Our campsite was great, and our group had a fun time doing archery, bb gun shooting, cooking, first aid, nature walk, knots, lashings, etc. Overall this was a great experience for our scouts, and the location of the camp is very convenient to get to.
Original June 2018: While the staff was friendly, this camp is way overpriced to the point of being ridiculous. I took a group of 11 year old scouts here and it was $50 per boy plus $10 per leader for a simple overnighter.
