Great spot to camp, fish, or stage for the duck hunting trip! Lots of wildlife around, so keep the food and coolers locked up. Leaf-cutter Ants around, but not aggressive or very dangerous. I will be going back and have recommended to others already

The park is gorgeous!!! The wildlife and birdlife in the park are the best that we’ve seen so far. The evening we reached, we saw a couple of wild boar near our campsite. Next morning, we were greeted by the sight of a full family of wild boar, with cubs and all. Armadillos, bald eagles, white tailed deer, and tons of birds on the lake. The state park staff are helpful, they were prompt in communicating about a water issue, by personally going to each campsite. We had to cut our trip short due to the water issue, but would love to come back again

Such a serene, beautiful experience! Pet friendly park with pet friendly trails (be tick prepared just in case but we didn’t come across any). Alligators do exist in this park but we also didn’t see any even while fishing! The javalinas I would be more concerned about if you have pets or small children that are curious. The camping was awesome and we made a bunch of friends! People RV here more than tent camp but it was overall a great experience! The bird sanctuary was a cute plus to the campsite! Also y’all HAVE to try the pulled pork sandwiches from the store made by the sweetest couple ever! They were DELICIOUS! Will definitely be coming more often!
