Keep everything in the bear bins!!! Woke up to a bear right at my tent. Toilets are pretty dirty, loud even on weekdays, not a lot of space or privacy, better to just get an air bnb
ILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL FOR THE BLM STAFF, AND RANGERS that oversee this place ! Always !!! They keep it clean and clean up after those who can’t seem to do it themselves! It is a fair distance from the actual river. And probably best if you bring your own drinking water 💧
Bear lockers for food USE THEM!!! Be bear aware at this camp… LOCK ALL SMELLS IN THE LOCKER !
Trails are moderate.. narrow !
I had no reception and if you’re coming from nevada city , coyote road is the last place for really good reception.
4 ton limit coming across bridge if you’re coming from nevada city. So if you’re planning to camp, it may be wise to carry emergency car tools/plugs/fixaflat, because if you use AAA they would have to take the long route around due to bridge limit… Campgrounds are fairly close together… but you can find a couple with privacy there’s one or two double spots and the price here is pretty amazing considering THE amount most campgrounds are charging now days
Perfect for camping and the river is just a 35 minute walk from the campsite. Perfect for a morning walk.
